I'm swimming to save lives
- This is my second year diving
- in for youth mental health
Youth suicide is an issue very close to my heart due to personal experiences. When I was 17 years old, I suffered from depression and attempted to take my own life. I was placed in an induced coma but, thankfully, I woke up without any health problems.
I often wish I could go back and tell my 17-year-old self that everything works out. The negative moments in life are only temporary, and there are ways to work through our emotions.
In March, I want to swim my heart out and push myself for those moments in life when things get tough. I also want to raise money to help those who don’t have access to the support they need.
