Making Waves for Mental Health – 2km a Day in March.

  • This is my first year diving

  • in for youth mental health

Mental health is deeply personal to me. Even if this weren’t a fundraiser, I would still be doing this—to shine a light on mental health and suicide awareness across the globe. Every single day, I am committing to swimming 2km to keep the conversation going—not just for young people, but for every generation.

This is more than just a challenge. It’s a statement that mental health matters, that no one should struggle in silence.

If you can, please support, share, or simply spread the word. Every ripple of awareness counts. 💙🏊‍♂️

March 4th day 4.

Early swim today better than yesterday. Recovery between sets improving. 36 laps, 4 kickboards. Submerging in water, blocking out the noise has always been a fav. Just 4 days of daily laps & I can already feel the difference in my days, my mind, and my posture. Mental health is real. Suicide is real. Keep moving. Keep going. #Laps4Life #MentalHealth #SuicidePrevention

March 3. day 3.

Struggled but showed up. First AM swim: 20 freestyle, 20 board kicks. Pushed myself hard, felt the nausea and dizziness after. Not used to these early, early swims, but this is me stepping up. Great to train with my mate Renee, coffee then straight to work. Discomfort is growth. #Laps4Life ##MentalHealth #SuicidePrevention

Day 2. march 2nd.

Day 2: Felt easier today. The fins made a big difference, and my breathing was better. I felt more relaxed and, while it still took just under 2 hours, I didn’t feel sick or nauseous. Picked up some great swimming tips from others. #LapsForLife #MentalHealth #SuicidePrevention

March 1st. day 1.

Discomfort means growth and wow was I uncomfortable. It took me 2hrs to swim 40 laps & I felt absolutely wrecked afterward. Nauseous, exhausted… like a whale moving in slow motion while my husband patiently waited on the sidelines. The physical challenge hit me harder than the mental one, but I kept reminding myself why I’m doing this. I thought about all the incredible people who have donated to this cause, and that gave me the push to keep going. Don't think. Just Do. Day 1, 2km swi done. 💪 #LapsForLife
