Swimmin’ laps to help save lives.

  • This is my first year diving

  • in for youth mental health

Suicide & mental health is a tough, and very taboo topic. Because of this, it’s a topic that needs to be constantly promoted, and have awareness drawn to. One can never be too educated.

More young people die from suicide, per year, than those in car accidents or from cancer. That’s insane numbers and it’s something that’s only been continuing to grow.

Throughout my short time lived, I’ve been face to face with my own mental health battles, and those of so many close to me. I’ve had days where I can’t get out of bed to face the day, and other days where I’ve had to be a support to someone in that same position. I’ve seen the toll it can take on people, and the further effects of those close to them. So it’s extremely important to me that the resources for such conditions, are some that are never not made readily available to those who may need it.

This March, I'm gonna be attempting to force my unfit bod into swimming at least 40km, spread out over the month.

By doing this, it will not only be great for my own mental health, but it gives me an opportunity to be a part of a change. I want to fundraise alongside this, to help make sure young people in Australia have the mental health support they urgently need.

All funds will go straight towards charity, and straight back into helping young people gain the resources they require & deserve.

To help people see the reason why life is worth living everyday.

Mental health is definitely something that is not supported enough. I have had my own struggles with OCD and seen many others suffer with many other disorders. You are doing a great service to everyone, you should be very proud of yourself, go get em Jeklyn
