Hannah Chiha

I'm swimming 800 laps!!! Here’s why:

  • This is my second year diving

  • in for youth mental health

Suicide is the leading cause of death for people aged 15-49 in Australia.

That means that each year more young Australian people die by suicide than in car accidents or from cancer.

Mental illness is real and is something that I personally have to battle everyday. I am blessed with an amazing support network that have helped me through some really tough times but unfortunately not everyone who is fighting their own mind has the love and support that I do.

That’s why, this March, I'm swimming 800 laps in honour of the 8 Australians who take their own life each day.

I am passionate about making sure that ALL young people in Australia have the mental health support they urgently need, no matter what their situation looks like, in hopes that 8 can one day become 0.

By sponsoring my challenge, you too will be helping to prevent youth suicide. Helping young people feel better about today and the future, no matter what challenge they're facing.

Any donation, big or small, will be greatly appreciated! Not by me, but by the young person whose life may depend on it.
