I'm swimming to save lives
- This is my fourth year diving
- in for youth mental health
Swimming has always been important to my mental health, and since my husband David’s bike accident on January 12th 2024 , even more important. Many people of course experience mental health issues in this challenging world and I have participated in this swimming fund raiser before. I think it is very worth supporting. It also provides me with a focus to swim in March (which I like to do anyway!) fitted around David’s physio rehab and other health related commitments /visits. I am very aware of the need to support and help people deal with a challenging world. I would be most grateful if you could consider donating - I have committed to swim 20km over the month (but might swim more) , but am committing to this distance!! Also this year my grandson Etienne is joining me and has committed to swimming .75km (which is 30 laps of a 25 metre pool) over March (he is in the photo with me) - as part of this total - so we are a team!!!.
Also as outlined by this charity website / promotional material I know that “.... more young people die by suicide than in car accidents or from cancer. So this March, I'm swimming to make sure young people in Australia have the mental health support they urgently need. All funds raised will help young people feel better about today and the future, no matter what challenge they're facing”.

When I said you make "challenges" look easy, I didn't have this "rigorous" fundraiser in mind, but I have the utmost confidence in your ability to meet your goal. Go Lizzie!

My heroic and caring wife. Helping people with mental health issues is so important. While I can reach out for help, the very nature of poor mental health leaves people isolated and poorly equipped to improve their situation. Help others who have trouble helping themselves.
