I'm swimming to save lives

  • This is my first year diving

  • in for youth mental health

Did you know suicide is the leading cause of death for young people in Australia?

That means that each year more young people die by suicide than in car accidents or from cancer.

This March, I'm swimming to make sure young people in Australia have the mental health support they urgently need.

By sponsoring my challenge, you’ll be helping to prevent youth suicide.

All funds raised will help young people feel better about today and the future, no matter what challenge they're facing.

Unfortunately, I was unable to swim this morning due to a sore shoulder. I successfully reached my goal of 40klms and nearly generated $1500. I would like to extend my gratitude to all my generous donors who made this achievement possible. I am truly humbled by your support. It has been a pleasure to participate in Laps for Life. Finally made 40 klms & it's been a pleasure to swim for Laps for Life, the Reachout organisation. Although there are great suicide prevention organisations, this is tailored for kids. Everyone has been impacted by one way or another by someone taking their life so please do your part & donate to this worthy cause.

Nearly there

Feeling sore & tired but pushing through to my goal of 40 klms. Never imaged I could swim this far but when you're focused, it's amazing what you can achieve. Truly humbled by the support of the local community, it's the little guys that are most generous. If you can support me for this worthy cause, it will save lives. Even one makes it all worthwhile. Shoulder & knee hurting but will carry on. Less klms per day but more days swimming so I can reach my goal of 40klms. When I started training in Nov, could only manage 300 metres. Goals have gone from $300 to $1500 & 20 klms to 40 klms. Swimming for the kids & you can help as well by donating to laps for life, child suicide prevention. Lastly sometimes I forget how beautiful the Airlie Lagoon is because my focus is primary in the pool.
