A bit about myself and my why to do this challenge ♡♡♡



I first started my aqua journey on the 4th January 2024. Around the age of 49yo my mobility was decreasing rapidly. I went from doctor to doctor to try find out what's happening with me as I was a active F45er. Finally got my answer from a friend who was training at f45 and saw my decline throughout the years . She asked me , have you heard of lipoedema and i hadn't heard of it before. Found a specialised doctor. Had the tests and I was diagnosed with stage 3 lipoedema just 3 months before my 50th birthday. It's a hereditary disease and progressive in hormonal changes which I was peri menopause. I had to find a new means of doing exercise as I was unable to walk far , stairs are a nightmare for me. I got myself a walker but really didn't want to go down that path. I decided to take aqua classes , when I first started, I had to use the ramps as the ladders to hard . Loved the aqua classes, they are sooo much fun. Within 3 to 4 months, my mobility got better, I started to walk unassisted +further Plus started to use the ladders, which allowed me to start doing deep water aqua classes. 1 year onwards and here I am doing my first year of Laps for life challenge. I have made a few wonderful friends at aqua and 4 of the ladies have joined me in doing this challenge. It sure is wonderful team training with these amazing women who all have their own reasons to choose to do this challenge. When I first was diagnosed, I was depressed frustrated and it affected my mental health immensely. I also have anxiety disorders, which I'm finding that aqua is helping me with. My depression and anxiety has decreased and I'm more confident n happy. Aqua is life saving, it certainly has changed my life for the better . So grateful to have this new lease on life and aqua has opened new doors for me in more ways then one. I look forward in doing my first Laps for Life challenge with my incredible team members "the happy lappers "+ wish everyone doing this challenge all the best with it .You are all Amazing ☆☆☆

Little bit about us the happy lappers ◇♡◇



We are a group of ladies who met 1 year ago through doing aqua classes . Since then we have been going out doing trivia and all kinds of adventures.  Aqua has changed our lives for the better.  This is our first year to do laps for life and we are all very excited to do this challenge together.  Throughout this last year we have learnt a lot about each other and each of us have our own reasons as to why we decided to do this particular challenge ♡♡
