Ready, Set, Go!

A Message from Jess

Youth suicide is such a prominent issue in the world today, and after spending years struggling with mental illness and feeling like there was no other way out, I know firsthand how important gaining support is. With help from the incredible support systems and access to mental health care, I am finally starting to live a life that feels hopeful and meaningful. I know all too well what it feels like to lose all hope, and I want for other young people who are in the same position as I was to be able to realise that whilst they are still breathing, there is always hope for change and to feel differently.
My goal is to do my part in giving other young people an opportunity to feel supported and valued. Things can get hard and people can feel too far gone but it doesn’t mean there isn’t hope to be held. I want someone to hold the hope for other individuals that I had held for me until I was ready to work towards a better life for myself. With hard work, we can work together toward making a positive change in the mental health systems and suicide prevention.

Laps for Life 2025

In three days Jess, Emily, and myself are diving into the pool to swim a total of 82km over the month of March. Together we are working to raise a total of $3000 to go towards services for youth suicide prevention, and mental health support.

This is my third year taking part in this challenge, and am so happy to be joined by two amazing people this year. Life can get hard, this challenge can get hard too, but together and with the help of friends and family we hope to be able to do our part in making life a little bit more bearable for those who are currently struggling with their mental health.

We’re swimming to save lives

Did you know suicide is the leading cause of death for young people in Australia?

That means that each year more young people die by suicide than in car accidents or from cancer.

This March, we’re swimming to make sure young people in Australia have the mental health support they urgently need.

By sponsoring our challenge, you’ll be helping to prevent youth suicide.

All funds raised will help young people feel better about today and the future, no matter what challenge they're facing.

Our Impact

So far this year we helped provide...

527

Young people with vital mental health support.
