Laps for Loved Ones

Gearing Up!!

Grab your friends, family, colleagues, strangers, anyone or go solo and jump in, get wet and do it for something so much bigger than yourself, because u can!!

Have some spare time, fifteen minutes, an hour? Any number of laps counts, just like every cent donated will help make a difference!

If you are new to swimming, just love a dip or have any experience, this challenge is for you!
You have the whole month to swim however far you wish, you decide your own goal and it can be raised or amended at any stage.
Swim progress can be found on your page, but is not displayed on the teams main page.
There is completely no pressure, or expectations! You can swim from anywhere and log your own laps/distance, updating as you do them!
It’s a huge cause that impacts everyone, Australia’s youth suicide rate surpasses that of every other cause of death and has held this #1 lethal ranking for years.

Mental illness and health issues affect 1 in 3 Australians, that’s at least one family member in almost every single Australian household. Talk about that, with some real, serious conversations. If talking is not ideal to the situation then consider alternatives to fill your cup, or to recharge someone who might seem to be running a little low, all we need is 8 minutes. 8 minutes with a friend or loved one, is enough to make human beings feel not alone.

Swim for your family and loved ones; to honour or commemorate, for yourself, or for the people going at it alone. It’s not about your ability, just give it a go and do your best, whatever that may be, but do this to help broaden the conversations around mental health and keep sharing with everyone to reach any donations to help provide resources, training for support, funding for call centres, educators, prevention programs or providers, the support and donations you raise is what will help save our loved ones.

Please get involved, do what you can, have a go.

We’re swimming to honour loved ones taken far too soon.

Suicide is the leading cause of death for young people in Australia.

Each year more young people die by suicide than in car accidents or from cancer.

This March, we’re swimming to make sure young people in Australia have the mental health support they urgently need.

By joining or sponsoring our challenge, you’ll be helping to prevent youth suicide.

All funds raised will help the struggles of young Australians be more equipped to be overcome, keeping our friends and family safer from the plague of mental illnesses.

We are swimming with any degree of abilities, to keep the people we love alive and for the holes in our hearts from the loss of beautiful people.

Swim with us, or donate to protect so many beautiful people!
